HP Colour Laserjet:
Why It’s a Far Cry from Any Inkjet Printer

Any small or big business nowadays needs printers. Just think of all the jobs that one can do from printing vital documents to color photographs; printers have gone a long way from the time when they were merely used for producing black and white documents. Modern day printers are now multi-functional, meaning, they can also be used to scan or copy important documents.

Laserjet and inkjet printers are both capable of delivering printing tasks yet there are a few things that set laserjet printers apart. Though both can be made handy, laserjet printers come with a built-in laser beam which projects the image of the digital copy of the page that was printed. This is then projected onto a selenium-coated and charged rotating drum. This is brought about by photoconductivity. Inkjet printers, on the other hand, make use of piezoelectric material filled with a cartridge filled with ink. There spraying nozzles with this type of printer. Quality-wise, laserjet printing is the way to go.

Take the case of an HP colour laserjet printer. Most models from this brand are multi-functional which means they can also be used for scanning and copying tasks. All HP laserjet printers come in speeds that would make inkjet printers a thing of the past. As laserjet speed is all about consistency throughout the printing task, inkjet printers need to spray ink for every pixel so it is obviously a lot slower than laserjet printers.

For instance, HP colour laserjet 2600n comes with four color cartridges – black, and three other primary colors which are red, yellow and cyan. These cartridges are known to deliver 2,500 printed pages (at 5% coverage). Multiplied by four, you roughly have 10,000 pages before you need to replace the four cartridges that come with the original purchase. Inkjet cartridges often run out faster so if you’re aiming to have a large volume of printing tasks, it’s wiser to settle for laserjet printers.

Another model of Hewlett Packard printer is the HP colour laserjet CP1215. This is a low-priced printer but it would deliver the same amount of work as its costlier and bulkier counterparts. Cased in light gray and white, it has a user-friendly control panel and indicator lights. This means that even those who are using this printer for the very first time won’t be groping in the dark.

The HP colour laserjet CP1515n comes with a 150-sheet input tray and is also priced below £150. You may think that a printer that is priced as low as this would deliver just fair results but nothing could be more wrong than this. This can actually be used for shared printing at home or the office! The HP colour laserjet CM 1312nfi is also a multi-function printer just like its siblings. It comes with a sleek and very elegant top-down design. It’s a flatbed scanner that comes with an LCD control panel.

Laserjet printers may cost more in the beginning but you won’t be replacing your cartridges for a longer period of time. You’re actually looking at 2,500-10,000 printed pages plus, they can last up to 5 years as compared to just 3 years for inkjet printers. Knowing these advantages, it would be wise to settle for an HP colour laserjet printer soon – and none else!
